WIND FARMS NOT A BREEZE TO ESTABLISH.(CAPITAL REGION)

Wind is energy, energy is money.

At least the potential for harnessing all that energy just blowing right by is certainly tempting.

In his State of the State Message last January, Gov. George Pataki ambitiously promoted clean, renewable sources of energy -- notably wind, sun and small hydropower -- as very much part of our future.

He called for one-quarter of the state's energy needs to be met by renewable sources by 2113. That's a substantial jump over what green power provides to the mix at the moment.
